Two of us went to the ISS and had a fascinating and very enjoyable morning. We learned something of Indian geography and culture, and also the Hindi names of the spices we were using and there health benefits. We chopped fresh spinach and potatoes to make Saag Aloo, washed and cooked lentils to make a delicious Dhal, and also steamed Basmati rice so it stood up like a hedgehog – and then we got to eat it all! The experience was almost enough to turn me into vegetarian, but definitely inspiring enough to make me want to cook more authentic Indian food.
